Barik, tickets and season tickets

From January 1 to December 31, 2026, children under the age of 15 will continue to travel free of charge. On the day they turn 15, the free travel will expire. 

To benefit from the free travel it is essential to travel with a personalized Barik card (with photo and name). Children under 6 years of age do not need a card.

How to obtain a personalized Barik card? 

The Barik Mobile app is now available for those between 15 and 65 years old with Android phone 8.0 or higher, with NFC technology. 

By downloading the official Barik Mobile app from the app store, you can carry your personalized Barik card on your phone and validate it directly with your phone. The application can be used with Top-up pass and temporary tickets. 

The digital card can be used on public transport, except in Renfe, Puente Colgante (nacelle), Portugalete boat and the park-and-ride parking lots. 

Recharge your barik card online or purchase monthly passes quickly and easily through the CTB website and app. Remember that the official CTB app is available for both iOS and Android.

¿A qué billetes afecta el descuento?

Las tarifas recogen una rebaja del 50% para todos los viajes que se consideran de abono. En el caso de Metro Bilbao, el descuento afecta a los títulos mensuales (Bidai y Gazte), al abono de 10 viajes del ascensor de Mallona, así como a los viajes realizados con Gizatrans y Creditrans. También se aplica en los casos de familia numerosa.

No se aplica al billete Ocasional ni al billete de 1 viaje del ascensor de Mallona.
