Metro Bilbao launches the "Thank you for giving up your seat" initiative with the aim of promoting a more inclusive mobility. This measure seeks to raise awareness among users of the importance of respecting the use of the grey seats on trains, which are intended for people who need them most, including the elderly, people with reduced mobility, people with cognitive disabilities, pregnant women and those travelling with a guide dog (these must go under the seat).
The main objective of this campaign is to remind that grey seats are for those who really need them and seeks to encourage a smoother and more comfortable transfer of seats. To this end, a card with a ribbon has been designed to be worn around the neck and encourage other users to give up their seats in a natural way.
This card can be requested at any Customer Service Office (Ansio, Zazpikaleak/Casco Viejo or Areeta), at the rate of one per person, and will serve to give visibility to the need for a seat, without having to request it verbally. It is important to remember that its possession is not indispensable to use these preferential seats.
